The Fonoteca Neotropical "Jacques Vielliard" (FNJV) is a collection of archives and vocalizations of animals, mainly from Neotropical region. This is one of the 10 biggest sound collections in the world, having recordings of all vertebrates groups (fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) and some groups of invertebrates (as insects and arachnids). Currently, Fonoteca Neotropical has more than 11 thousands deposits of vocalizations and about 20 thousands to be deposited.
This computational system is a project developed at University of Campinas, produced as a joint action between the Institute of Computing (
Laboratory of Information Systems
) and the FNJV, from Department of Animal Biology. The main goals of this computational system is to provide online access to the data of the sound collection, upload new sound files to be added into the collection and to provide requesting for recordings of deposited sounds files.
